Vintage Tole Painted House Recipe Box

I know, it’s just too cute!

This is actually a Vintage Recipe Box.  It’s made out of wood and hand-painted using the Tole technique by a very talented artist.

Look at all the detail – sheer curtains, blooming potted plants, heart cutouts in the shutters, plank walls and door, brick walkway and shrubs all around.

This side has more windows including an upper story frothing with plants and look how she made the scallop so realistically 3-D.

And the other side is just as cute with its stepped out brick chimney which includes a slit at the top to conveniently hold your recipe card while you work.

Here’s some quick visual dimensions…

…and you can see that the ‘shake roof’ is set with two sturdy hinges so the lid opens easily.

Not in to paper recipes anymore?  No problem.  Turn this into the cutest treat/cookie storage ever or keep those pesky kitchen appliance cords corralled with ease.  Oh, and wouldn’t this be the best house warming gift?

Here’s the link to my Etsy shop Old Raven and it will take you right to this listing if you want to see more details:

As always – thank you for keeping Old Raven Creates in view.  Next up:  Halloween ATB using Vintage Halloween Postcards!
